This is a really unique product. Starting with green walnuts, where the shell is still soft, the walnuts are pierced 20-30 times, then left in water for 14 days. The water is changed every day. Next step is to cook the syrup from water, amaretto, spices and sugar. The walnuts are then added and left for 24 hours. This is repeated 4 times. The walnuts and syrup are then added to jars and left to mature for 18 months. Then they are ready to be enjoyed with cheese, meat, or mixed in with mashed potatoes, or blended into dressings. But remember – don’t waste the delicious syrup. Why not add some vodka to make a mouth watering liqueur!
